Announcement (June 24, 2011)

On June 24, 2011, the partnership of SAI-ENSA received an award from the Veterans of
Foreign Wars and its Ladies Auxiliary / Department of Kentucky, in their recognizing us as being “The Small Business of the Year” for our hiring of a high percentage of military veterans. The event was held in Louisville, Kentucky.
The award was accepted by Operations & Maintenance Manager-Ohio River, Alan B. Marsh. Alan oversees the ENSA coal sampling operations at the Dayton Power & Light Company, J.M. Stuart and Killen Stations in Aberdeen and Manchester, Ohio, respectively; and he assists in the management of the SAI operation at the Norfolk Southern Terminal in Wheelersburg, Ohio. Being an ex-career Navy veteran himself, Alan was especially proud to be our representative. As he stated with regard to hiring veterans, “…not only is it the right thing to do, but it makes good business sense, as well”, when considering their, “…discipline and being attuned to following procedures.” All of us at SAI-ENSA could not agree more, and it is exactly why we employ a predominance of veterans at all of our operations. Not only for those in our employ, but for all U.S. military veterans everywhere, we extend our sincere appreciation for your service, and for the sacrifices endured by you and your families.
Thank you!

Announcement

It is with great pride and pleasure that I am writing to announce the promotion of Rob
Wolsey to Director of Technical Services for Sampling Associates International.
Rob has been with the company since 1989 and throughout his career he has shown
strong dedication to the company’s mission and has a strong track record of expanding
his skill set and finding new ways to contribute.
His contribution to the company’s success has been particularly important in recent
years. Not only have SAI, and its partners, experienced rapid growth in the number of
sampling systems in our care but we are also in a period where all of our main sampling
contracts are installing new sampling equipment.
In the last quarter of 2010, SAI faced its most complex project to date – replacing one of
the Tema sampling systems at Norfolk Southern’s Pier 6. This was a particularly
challenging project because the new sampling system had to be installed in the same
location as the old sampling system within a very short window of time.
The project was completed on time and we were able to put it into active sampling
service from day one. Rob will be the first to point out that many people contributed to
the success of the project, but Rob played a key role from the design of the
specifications to the planning and execution of the installation. It was an important job
very well done and a great achievement.
Rob has the all the attributes required for such an important position – experience,
expertise, thoughtfulness, thoroughness, a commitment to teamwork and a great
aptitude and attitude for learning. Rob will be responsible for all mechanical sampling
projects, maintenance programs and hardware in our care – and serve as the primary
resource for the same with our domestic and international partners.
There are many opportunities in the future for SAI and its partners. I have no doubt that
Rob will play a crucial role in the company achieving its objectives.
